Good twists and turns, expect the unexpected when you read a book by Shalini because she doesn’t disappoint。 I’ve read a couple of her books so far and have loved them all。 If you’re a Freida McFadden or Miranda Rijks fan then you’ll for sure enjoy Shalini Boland’s fast paced thrillers which suck you in right from chapter one。 Can’t wait to read her next one!

Shalini is one of my favourite authors and her books never disappoint。 I know I can download one of her books without reading the blurb。 This book was no exception。 It had so many twists and turns that I didn’t expect or see coming。 Fantastic book

3。5。 Not four stars。 Not enough of a wow ending but really well paced。 Love Bolands books

Greater than 3 stars, not quite 4。 The epilogue was not especially shocking。 Still, there were certainly some surprises along the way。 Not a bad literary snack。

When I see there is a new book from this author, I just try and move the earth in order to fit the book into my schedule。 I know I could still read it later, but her characters just keep calling my name until I give in。 😉I was able to download the book at the perfect time。 I just finish a book and I was ready to dive in straight away。Her books are so easy to read。 This does not mean she does not add any surprises or twist and turns。 It does not imply either her stories are simple。 Not at all!! They just suck you in and you are lost。 This is the kind of book that really relaxes you even though they are putting you on the edge of your seat。 It might seem strange。 On the edge of your seat and relaxing… but that’s how I feel about them。They are very straightforward and I just cannot get enough of them。Don’t get me wrong。 I also like thriller that fry your brain when you are trying to figure everything out。I think I just realised while writing this how to explain it maybe better。 In some books you have to look for a killer who might be, in a matter of speech, hiding somewhere on the planet。 With this author’s books, you know you have to look for the culprit in a smaller circle。Did that help me uncovering the baddie? No; of course not。 😊Whether I figure something out or not, I don’t really care。 It’s the storytelling that does it for me。How many stars for this author’s storytelling? 5, of course! 😉Thank you 。。。more

True to form, this is another great domestic thriller from Shalini Boland。 Fast pace and edgy, no way did I see this plot unravelling as it did。 I was hooked from the very beginning and didnt want to stop reading till the end。The audiobook has great narration too。

Determined to protect her son from yet another heartache, Lilian is keeping a very close eye on Caroline。Caroline has a secret; one she must keep if she wants to find the truth she is seeking。 Her new mother-in-law is a horrible person who makes no secret of her distaste for Carline。 When Caroline shares her secret with Felix, Seb’s brother, she has no idea what she is about to face。 However, all she wants is the truth and this might be what finally leads to the truth。 But is she ready for that truth?I could not turn the pages of this book fast enough。 I loved how it kept me engrossed and how the pages seemed to be turning themselves。 This is a fabulously read with an awesome twist。 Caroline has left her life in Australia behind and followed her new husband back to the UK。 When she arrives, she finds out that his family not only all work together, they all live together as well。 Her in-laws are not very welcoming。 However, she understands the shock and is determined to give them the benefit of the doubt。 I was amazed that she so easily accepted her new life when everything about the Fletchers’ lifestyle screamed that it was not normal。 Lilian is way too protective of her sons and the entire family dynamic seemed unhealthy。 Yet you are left feeling sorry for Lilian。 She is a mother who wants the best for her son。 While Lilian comes across as a battle-axe, she manages to steal your heart。 She might not like Caroline, but her devotion to her family is obvious。 You cannot help but feel for this mother。You guessed it, this book has flown onto my loved list for 2022。 I enjoyed every moment I spent reading this book and Shalini Boland has become one of my favourite authors。 I am yet to be disappointed when reaching for one of her books。I love that I am guaranteed an easy, quick read that is twisty and gripping while guaranteed to leave me surprised。Psychological thriller fans who enjoy a lighter read that is still gripping and full of twists will love this book, I highly recommend you give this author a try if you haven’t yet。 I do not doubt that you will find this book extremely entertaining。https://featzreviews。com 。。。more

It's a domestic suspense that capitalises on the tension between the new daughter-in-law and her husband's seemingly overprotective mother。 Add in a whirlwind romance, living with the in-laws, and the fact everyone has a secret making this a page-turner。I like the pacing, believable but not always likeable characters and the tangible tension that makes you wonder what's next。I received a copy of this book from the publisher。 It's a domestic suspense that capitalises on the tension between the new daughter-in-law and her husband's seemingly overprotective mother。 Add in a whirlwind romance, living with the in-laws, and the fact everyone has a secret making this a page-turner。I like the pacing, believable but not always likeable characters and the tangible tension that makes you wonder what's next。I received a copy of this book from the publisher。 。。。more

This novel rates somewhere between a 3 and a 4 for me, but I rounded up。 The story is melodramatically presented as our main character, Caroline, tells us she is about to meet her new in-laws following a whirlwind romance and is feeling very nervous but hoping they'll be kind and that they everyone will get along。 She and her husband met online, then he flew to Australia and swept her off her feet, married her and brought her home to his family in England, where they all live together running a This novel rates somewhere between a 3 and a 4 for me, but I rounded up。 The story is melodramatically presented as our main character, Caroline, tells us she is about to meet her new in-laws following a whirlwind romance and is feeling very nervous but hoping they'll be kind and that they everyone will get along。 She and her husband met online, then he flew to Australia and swept her off her feet, married her and brought her home to his family in England, where they all live together running a family pub。 Needless to say, her mother-in-law is judgmental and terrible to live with。 In fact, no one is very welcoming。 A waitress is openly hostile to her。 Her husband seems very busy and is always leaving her home alone with the terrible people in the pub。 Slowly, Caroline starts learning things about her husband's past that he has kept from her。 The story switches p。o。v from Caroline to her mother-in-law, who is just as bitchy from her own point of view as she is from Caroline's。After this, a semi-spoiler:At this point in the novel, there is a big surprise reveal。 Since we are hearing this story from Caroline's point of view, when the big reveal comes, I felt I had been tricked, because once we know "the truth" about her, we realize that everything she said to us at the beginning was disingenuous。 And like, why would the narrator be trying to fool us about her purpose? So that was annoying。But then the story proceeded with regular dramatic twists and turns, and the end was an extra good satisfying twist after you thought you'd already seen all the surprises, so that helped redeem the novel。 Basically, this is just light, fluffy fun, an audiobook I was able to listen to in the background at 1。5 while I did a lot of other things。 Thanks to Netgalley and Bookotoure Audio for providing me with an advance copy of the audiobook, which was well narrated by Katie Villa, who did a great job with all the voices, Australian and English accents both。 。。。more
